She works with individuals across the lifespan, including young adults, adults, geriatric adults, veterans and their families, and leads group therapy sessions designed to foster personal growth, healing, and connection. Melissa’s holistic approach encompasses a wide range of therapeutic techniques, helping clients address various emotional, psychological, and behavioral challenges.

With expertise in treating anxiety, mood disorders, depression, chronic low self-worth, burnout, and bipolar disorder, Melissa is committed to helping her clients build resilience and develop healthier coping mechanisms. She works with individuals who have experienced trauma, PTSD, domestic violence, sexual abuse, grief and loss, infidelity, and family conflict. Her therapeutic approach is particularly effective for clients navigating significant life transitions, such as relationship changes, divorce, adoption, infertility, and career shifts.

In addition to traditional counseling, Melissa has a deep understanding of the complexities of identity and personal growth, especially as they pertain to racial dynamics, women’s issues, and self-discovery. She integrates the clients’ spirituality into the therapeutic process,  recognizing the profound role that personal belief systems can play in healing and growth.

Melissa’s work also includes addressing a variety of medical and physical health issues, such as pregnancy, prenatal and postpartum support, obesity, caretaking, and neuro divergence. She is experienced in working with clients on the autism spectrum, those with ADHD, and those who identify as neuro divergent. Her commitment to treating addiction and behavioral health concerns includes working with individuals facing substance abuse, alcohol abuse, internet addiction, and video game addiction.

For clients experiencing severe and complex mental health issues, including psychosis, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), and personality disorders, Melissa employs a trauma-informed approach and provides evidence-based strategies for symptom management.

She is also skilled in supporting clients with anger management, sports performance anxiety, and those seeking to enhance their skills and performance in various domains of life.

Melissa’s therapeutic work is client-centered and grounded in empathy, understanding, and respect for the unique experiences of each individual. She draws from a wide range of modalities and practices to create a tailored approach that meets the needs of each person.
